Sometimes thing do go wrong and it is important that you act swiftly and clearly by following our below instructions.
1.       Turn off the gas supply. The mains tap should be behind your gas meter. Move the handle a quarter turn until it’s at 90 degrees from the pipe. This will shut off the gas supply.
2.       Leave the house and call the National Grid Gas emergency helpline: 0800 111 999
Turn off your water immediately by turning the stopcock (usually found under the kitchen sink, but not always).
